A tabletop piece in bronze this work celebrates the Antipodean or Gibson’s Albatross which breeds exclusively on the Auckland Islands. I was very fortunate to visit the sub-antarctic islands in early 2025.  On a windswept afternoon off the Heritage Explorer I spent hours watching these amazing creatures take off and land so clumsily yet fly ever so gracefully.
