Charming Invaders is part of an ongoing series of works which comments on the tension between native and introduced flora and fauna in the New Zealand landscape. Whilst admiring the beauty, charm and clever design of the sycamore seed, the way they are installed and title of the work suggests there is something of an unwanted invasion as they helicopter in to put down roots wherever they fall.
This is the larger version of Charming Invaders and looks great as group of three or more mounted on large internal or an external wall. See link for smaller version here.
