2007, plywood

These charms represent something bigger than they are; in the way that the Eiffel tower signifies Paris. New York’s Twin Towers now signify terrorism and a South American tree frog is no longer just a frog but an indicator for global warming. Utilising plywood as a material, I was aiming for a charmless two dimensional cut out but also intentionally referencing the Eames’ ethos of bringing design to the masses…this sculpture is for everyone.
